  4. Doesn’t sound to me like you have a bad problem yet. If you introduce bass, they will need some smaller fish to prey on. If you want to get rid of them, muskellunge or even pike are a great option used here by the state to control species.

    Stock it with some Largemouth Bass. Get the local fish & wildlife group to schedule a stocking plan on this pond. They will do it for a small fee. At least in Kentucky, they will. They will stock your pond with bluegills, catfish, bass or all three. Get them to stock it with Largemouth Bass and maybe even some Channel Catfish. Largemouth Bass will thrive on the bluegill. After the bass have gotten big, and there is not an over crowded bluegill pond, you can throw a bluegill colored crankbait at the bass to catch them.

  6. Where I live the ponds are stocked with bluegills to support the largemouth bass population. If the bluegills are getting overpopulated the bass will quickly get them back in check. Stock it with a few large mouth bass.
