That’s very sweet! I can’t give you a definitive answer but I am guessing that they already like each other’s company! Maybe Kairi has been waiting for a friend for a while now!

    Best wishes on your pets!

  3. Birds do tend to copy each other. I had a similar incident with my keets. If 1 trusts you, the other knows it alright too.

  4. Birds are very intelligent and the second bird would have probably realised that you were not gonna harm it by watching the way Sage interacted with it.
Seeing another bird like itself sitting with you showed Kairi that you are not a threat and just another playground for them
The fact that she likes Sage is helpful too.
    Is she a young parakeet?
Younger birds tend to tame down easier than older birds and are more inquisitive so are more likely to explore and try new things.
Hope this helps with your question

  6. Same thing happened to me. It really is the new bird you got. It is very friendly, loves company and is very smart. I got two new birds and they started to crawl on my hands and play on the jungle gym i built them. I have another bird that will not go near me. It really depends on the bird. You must have got a good bird. Birds are part of a flock and like to have new birds and will mimic them in chirps, talking and sitting on your finger. Then can learn from eachother. I was in shock too when i got my two new birds, just certain birds are friendly and you picked a good one. Good luck and you have a smart bird.
