My B-I-L invited me to go fly fishing with him. Now i don’t claim to be the best outdoorsman, but i have been steelhead fishing, bass fishing, and crappie fishing, but this one has me puzzled…… how exactly does one “fish” for “flies”? and how much meat could you possibly get off of a fly anyway? is my brother in law delusional? can anyone reccomend a good shrink?
I broke my foot 2 weeks ago and I’m in a boot. We just got a new SunFish and we are going to the lake today. Can I sail with a broken foot? It seems like it’s healing really well as in the bruise is gone and the bump where I broke it is smaller (alot smaller) So like can the boot get wet or anything, like I really wanna sail! Maybe I can cover the boot with a bag so it doesn’t get wet so yeah. And my brother and I love to capsise so if the boot is covered can I swim with the boot on? Sorry for all the questions,

i dont have a boat so im looking for great off the shore panfishing, mainly bluegill or sunfish…

This morning I woke up not only to the first day of school, but to my little brother’s pet parakeet dead at the bottom of its cage. The day before it seemed fine. It was chirping away like always, but I did notice it sitting at the bottom of the cage puffed out. That was the only weird behavior I saw. In its cage it’s laying there with its eyes open and it looks like the claws are tucked away under his feathers. It looks like he just fell off the perch to me, but does anyone know what could’ve happened to him? Any strange bird diseases I should know about? There were barely no warning signs.
I just got a parakeet yesterday and I was wondering how to teach him to perch on my finger when he’s ready. My brother-in-law stuck his hand in his cage earlier today and pet him on his back. Earlier today, I also tried, but whenever you stick your hand in his cage, he scoots away. How do I get him to not be scared? This is my first bird. Also, how do you tell the sex of the bird?
Im digging a garden pond in my garden and was wondering which fish will live well together(not fight or eat each other). I’m planning on Saining a creek bed for tadpoles, crawdads, and blue gill; but my brother is also planning on bringing bigger fish from the river(about 1 to 1-1/2 ft),like catfish and crappie. Do you know if i could also add any more attractive fish, or would they just get beaten up and eaten up by the big catfish? by the way, my pond will be approximately 6 ft deep(at deepest point) by 18×20. the six foot deep part will only be about 4×4 ft square in the bottom and the sides will slant down and sort of step down to the bottom. Also, how many big fish do you think i could fit in there?
Laurel, do i sound like a retard to you? Well to ease your mind, I might put 1 catfish in at a time, and with the mosquitos(yes catfish in the river eat mosquitos, ive seen them) in my area, it shouldnt be a problem keeping them fed. If it is, then Of Course Im gonna feed them something, worms, crickets, any wild bug i can find. If its winter and there are no bugs, then ill skin one of my cats and feed them the meat off it for a week or so. anyways, sorry for putting out the impression i was mentallly handicapped. o ya and no i wasnt serious about skinning my cat, i love him very much, as will i love these fish. but thanks for pointing out there would be no algae or anything for the catfish to eat when the pond is first complete. and we’re putting a rock waterfall 4 no stale water. i think any fish would die in stale water w/out some filtration device.
Would it be safe to just take a branch from any tree outside and put screws into them and make your own natural perches? I went to petsmart and was going to purchase each natural perch for about 8 dollars each adn my brother in law was with me. He works with a lot of wood adn said that I could just make them myself with screws and branches off a tree. But, I am worried about bugs and little mites and stuff. Would it be safe to do what he said by just using regular branchs or should i just buy the ones from the pet store?
