He doesnt play with his toys, he doesnt want to come out and play, and everytime I put my finger infront of him he just moves back, hes been on my shoulder and finger before. the most movment he does around the cage is to go to his food and water dishes. How can I make him more active?
P.S. I’ve only had him for a week, so could this be the problem too?
Also when he his up on his perch, he always fluffs up when hes up there, what does that mean?
Is he just not playful, or is he getting used to his suroundings and just a little scared, also i dont no if he scared or likes it up on his perch, how can i get him down of his perch he wont let me pick him up
Will they overtime once they trust me start to whistle? ive heard a couple of chirps but thats it, i heard males tend be louder and whistle alot
I have taken in a 1 year old female budgie from a friend because she was afraid of the bird . in the few weeks that we’ve had her , Bluebell has finally quit charging the front of the cage and trying to bite me through the bars when I feed and water her. However, she stills raises a racket when we approach her cage and espeically when we are handling our other birds. She calms down after a while usually after she sees one of the others get the top of their head scratched or realizes we can’t be hurried away from her. We’ve been talking to her and have clipped her wings although i don’t feel comfortable handling her even with a extra perch yet. Will our efforts pay off or are we wasting our time?
i Got this new budgy saturday( he is about 3 months old) but hes so quiet sitting in his perch , no interest at all in toys ore anything, i know he is eating seeds and also im traying fruits and veggies but he dosent whant them, how active are baby budgies? o just they sit there? what do i do? is he sick o just lazy?
hey everyone what’s up? well i have a few budgie questions that i need some answers on: first of all, i have a now 4 month old budgie and it all of a sudden started to rub its beak/head against its perch and the side of its cage,why is it doing that? also can someone please tell me how to train my budgie to come to me when it’s on the floor and stuff and how can i teach my budgie to not fly away from me when it’s out of its cage and on my finger ? last question,can budgies see in the dark?when i leave my room at night i turn off my light and turn on a nightlight for him but i’m not so sure that it shines torward him so do i need to do anything differently? thanx! p.s.i like converse!=p

I’m not sure why she’s doing this. She started thiis yesterday. I’m worried. She’s also resting her head on the perch but she isn’t sleeping? Is she sick? I’m not sure. She lives with four males.
BTW, We washed the water continaer with soap but washed it out really good with water. Can it still be toxic to them? They already drank a little.
This morning I by accident caught the male and female budgie mating and I fear we may have little ones which I really didnt want that. There are no dark places for them to do anything, the cage has lots of light coming in and they did their thing on the perch. They only get closed at night time and I open them up around 6:30am every morning. Im actually worried if she is pregnant, and has the eggs or egg, how will the little one feed? What do they eat since the budgies get the normal budgie seed?
Can anyone advise me on what to do if she will have the egg and how long do budgies stay pregnant for? What action should I take to ensure if she is pregnant, where will she lay the egg? I would appreciate any feedback that would assist. No silly comments please.
I do feed my budgies healthy foods, for their becks, feathers etc., I am very interested to learn more and I take good care of my budgies, I just didnt expect to have little ones. If need be that I have to hand feed the little ones I will, but dont go judging when you dont know the full story.
