So it may sound weird but my bird will literally just fall into such a deep sleep that he falls to the bottom of his cage. I wake up to the bang almost every night. I am very aware of his movements while i sleep so I can tell if he is moving around before he falls (which has also happened). I also know about night terrors. He has those sometimes too. I have a night light for him and two fish tanks in my room, both of which have their lights on all night. So the night terrors have calmed down, but I’m really concerned that he’s going to hurt himself one night. His cage is about four feet tall, and the perch that he INSISTS on sleeping on is about three feet up. Any suggestions or ideas on why he just randomly plops down?
Yeah I’ve been thinking about doing the towel thing. I do think that’s best for now.
Also, in regard to the fish, I know they need the lights off too. I switch em out every day. One gets turned off for a day and night while the other stays on and vice versa. I know it’s not ideal (I work in the aquatics department of a pet store) but it keeps my bird happy and my fish are doing great so no worries.
