I know this person who is keeping an oscar in a 10 gallon tank. The oscar has been alive for 2 years and is about 6 inches. Oscars should reach 11 inches. This same person is keeping a red bellied pacu in a 10 gallon tank! The Pacu has been alive for 2 years and is about 7 inches. Pacu will get to 3-4 feet long! This same person is keeping a channel cat and 2 crappie in a 55 gallon aquarium! A channel cat will get to around 3-4 feet! The channel cat is about 15 inches long and the crappie are about 4 inches long. Now I will tell you who is keeping these fish in these miserable conditions, My high school BIOLOGY TEACHER, Mr. Jim Jensen. I would think a biology teacher would have the common sense not to but a fish that will get to 4 feet in a 1 1/2 foot long aquarium! How long will these fish live? They are stunted for sure, but are not yet deformed. I have talked to my teacher and told him to get rid of all of his fish, he told me they were “FINE”! This is ridiculous. CONTINUED—->>>>>
Can I drop a few alka-seltzer in each tank to humanly kill these fish, instead of them induring the long, painful death they are experiencing? I could probably secretly do this to the pacu.
