My Life Science classes’ Frog and Fish dissapeared.. what could’ve happened?

There was a bluegill and some huge frog ( I dont know the species) and the fish was too big for it to eat. We came back today and they were both gone. Has this ever happened to you? What do we do, and what has happened? Did it bury itself, and if so, what about the fish?
Seriously, people. Im not looking for joke answers, stop wasting my time. So far everyone’s saying that the frog ate the fish, then jumped out. Anyone with a pacman frog think this could have happened?

Animal names and collective nouns – what’s the pattern?

I probably learned this in fourth-grade science, but forgot and it’s been bugging me lately so now I’ll bug you all.

Why is it that for certain kinds of animals we have so many collective nouns in English that are the same as singular: that is, the singular and the plural forms are the same? Examples: sheep, elk, moose, etc; and perch, goldfish, trout, salmon, haddock, cod, etc. Is it a special ruminant-fish thing, did we get those groups of words from a single older language, or what is going on with this, if anything?
I tried this question in “Zoology” but didn’t get an answer, so am trying it here instead.

Possibilities of interbreeding fish and creating new species?

I’m asking this same question in the Zoology Section of Science & Mathematics.

I’ve heard of fish hybrids; striped bass (Morone saxatilis) and white bass (Morone chrysops). I know they do it at the hatcheries. How about different species? Let’s say a bluegill sunfish (Lepomis macrochirus) and a redear sunfish (Lepomis microlophus)? Or a bluegill sunfish and a black crappie (Pomoxis nigromaculatus)? Or a largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) and a smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieui)?

How about an Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus) and the Red-Bellied Piranha (Pygocentrus nattereri)? Would this combonation be possible at all? How?
In a laboratory or hatchery perhaps.

I’ve heard of people making offspring of lions and tigers mixed, why would this not be possible with fish of relatively similar characteristics?

Also I could care less whether or not they were sterile hybrids.

help with science project?

email me if u know anything about sunfish

Science/Math??

we are learning about the energy pyramid in school, and i need help with this:

Draw an energy pyramid for a river ecosystem that contains four levels–aquatic plants, insect larvae, bluegill fish, and a largemouth bass. the plants obtain 10,000 units of energy it recieve’s from the sun. if each level uses 90% of the energy it recieves from the previous level, how many units of energy are available to the bass?

Thanx in advance–
